Nayreet Architects is a leading multidisciplinary firm engaged in Architectural Consultancy, Project Management, Building Construction, Interior Design and construction, and Real Estate Development. We are looking for a dedicated, experienced, and proactive professional to join our Project Management & Construction Division as Assistant Project Engineer / Project Engineer – Interior Works.
Position Summary
The selected candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of corporate office interior fit-out and construction projects. The role requires full-time deployment at project sites, ensuring quality, timely completion, cost control, documentation, coordination with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers, and strict compliance with project specifications and safety requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage day-to-day site activities for interior fit-out and construction projects.
- Ensure execution of works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, work schedules, and quality standards.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and site workforce to ensure smooth project execution.
- Prepare and maintain all site-related documents, including: o Material requisitions o Measurement Books (MB) o Site instructions o Daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports o Material receiving records o Work progress records o Site inspection reports
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion within the approved budget.
- Verify quantities executed at site and maintain accurate measurement records.
- Prepare clients' running bills, final bills, variation claims, and supporting documents.
- Verify, audit, and certify contractors', subcontractors', and suppliers' bills before payment.
- Coordinate with the Design Team, Project Management Team, Procurement Team, Clients, Consultants, and Vendors throughout project execution.
- Monitor material consumption, wastage control, and inventory at site.
- Ensure compliance with approved materials, workmanship standards, and project specifications.
- Identify site issues and recommend practical engineering solutions.
- Attend project coordination meetings and prepare meeting minutes where required.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource management.
- Maintain proper project documentation for handover and final project closeout.
- Be willing to work at project sites in Dhaka and anywhere in Bangladesh, with frequent travel as required.
- Perform any other project management or construction-related responsibilities assigned by management.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma in Civil Engineering, or
- Diploma in Architecture, or
- Any other relevant accredited qualification in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Technology, Construction Technology, or a closely related discipline.
- Candidates with additional training in Construction Project Management, Interior Construction, AutoCAD, Primavera, Microsoft Project, or Occupational Health & Safety will receive preference.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 8–10 years for Assistant Project Engineer and 10-12 years for Project Engineer of relevant experience in interior fit-out and building construction projects.
- Experience in corporate office interiors, commercial buildings, banking projects, hospitals, hotels, educational institutions, or similar projects will be highly preferred.
- Proven experience in site supervision, project coordination, contractor management, billing, and quality control.
Age Requirement
- Maximum 35–40 years (relaxable for exceptionally qualified candidates).
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of interior construction methods, finishing works, and project execution.
- Good understanding of architectural, structural, interior, and MEP drawings.
- Experience in preparing measurement books (MB), material requisitions, project documentation, and progress reports.
- Knowledge of project billing, quantity verification, contractor bill checking, and payment certification.
- Familiarity with project scheduling, quality assurance, and cost control.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project, and other relevant computer applications.
- Strong communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple contractors and site teams effectively.
- Honest, self-motivated, disciplined, and capable of working independently under pressure.
- Physically fit and willing to travel extensively and stay at project sites across Bangladesh whenever required.
