Job Summary
The Deputy General Manager will oversee the entire manufacturing operation, ensuring the factory consistently meets its 40-ton daily production target while maintaining quality standards, cost efficiency, and workforce productivity. A key focus of this role is driving digital operations through the ERP system, ensuring accurate real-time data across production, inventory, and reporting functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Hands-on experience managing and operating ERP systems (production, inventory, and reporting modules) is essential.,
- Strong understanding of jute processing machinery and production workflow.

Production Management
- Plan, direct, and monitor daily production to achieve the 40-ton target consistently.
- Optimize machinery utilization (batching, spinning, weaving, winding, and finishing sections).
- Minimize production downtime and reduce raw jute wastage.
ERP & Digital Operations
- Lead the implementation, management, and continuous improvement of the ERP system across all departments.
- Ensure accurate, real-time data entry for production, inventory, procurement, and dispatch modules.
- Use ERP analytics to monitor KPIs, identify bottlenecks, and drive data-based decision-making.
- Train and guide department heads and staff on proper ERP usage and compliance.
- Coordinate with IT/ERP vendors for system upgrades and troubleshooting.
Quality Control
- Ensure all products meet required quality specifications and buyer/export standards.
- Implement and maintain quality assurance systems across all production stages.
Workforce & Leadership
- Supervise department heads, production supervisors, and floor workers.
- Manage manpower planning, shift scheduling, and labor productivity.
- Foster a safe, disciplined, and motivated work environment.
Cost & Inventory Management
- Control production costs, raw material (raw jute) consumption, and utility usage.
- Coordinate with procurement to maintain optimal inventory of raw jute and spares — tracked through the ERP system.
Maintenance & Compliance
- Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of machinery.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and labor regulations.
Reporting
- Generate and present daily/weekly/monthly production and performance reports directly from the ERP platform.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 10–15 years in a jute/textile manufacturing environment, with at least 3–5 years in a senior managerial role.
- ERP Expertise: Hands-on experience managing and operating ERP systems (production, inventory, and reporting modules) is essential.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of jute processing machinery and production workflow.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead large teams
