Responsibilities: The Associate Officer – Child Protection Case Worker is tasked with providing direct child protection case management services to children at risk. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all cases are managed in a child-centered, rights-based, and ethical manner, adhering to organizational policies, national legislation, and inter-agency standards.
Key Duties:
Identify and receive child protection cases through outreach, referrals, and community engagement, ensuring a proactive approach to child safety.
Conduct comprehensive child protection assessments in line with CP Case Management Guidelines to determine the needs and risks associated with each case.
Develop and implement individualized case plans in consultation with children and their caregivers, ensuring that the plans are tailored to the specific needs of each child.
Facilitate referrals to appropriate services, including health, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), and education, to ensure holistic support for the child.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring confidentiality and data protection in line with organizational policies.
Participate in regular case review meetings with supervisors and other team members to ensure the quality and effectiveness of case management services.
Engage with community stakeholders to raise awareness about child protection issues and promote community-based child protection mechanisms.
Provide training and capacity-building support to community volunteers and other stakeholders involved in child protection activities.
Contribute to the development of child protection strategies and action plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Report on case management activities and outcomes to supervisors and donors, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Applicants should have a minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in the NGO sector, specifically in roles related to child protection and case management.
Strong understanding of child protection principles and practices, including familiarity with CP Case Management Guidelines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, caregivers, and community stakeholders.
Proficiency in conducting assessments and developing individualized case plans.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with external partners.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
