KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, within delegated authority):

  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of selected agricultural and livelihood value chains across Rangamati, Khagrachhari, and Bandarban districts.
  • Identify priority commodities and value chains with potential for improving livelihoods, resilience, food security, and market integration.
  • Analyze market systems, supply chains, and actor relationships, including producers, traders, aggregators, transporters, processors, retailers, cooperatives, and institutional buyers.
  • Assess key constraints and bottlenecks affecting value chain performance, including transport, aggregation, storage, market access, post-harvest management, price volatility, climate exposure, financing, and infrastructure limitations.
  • Assess the functionality and accessibility of markets in remote and hard-to-reach areas.
  • Identify opportunities for strengthening aggregation models, storage systems, rural logistics, market information systems, and buyer linkages.
  • Assess gender, youth, protection, and social inclusion dimensions within selected value chains.
  • Examine opportunities for local procurement and institutional market engagement, including potential linkages with school feeding, social protection, and humanitarian procurement systems where feasible.
  • Identify opportunities for climate-smart and resilience-oriented interventions within targeted value chains.
  • Provide practical, sustainable and prioritized recommendations for WFP, Government counterparts, and partners.
  • Perform tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Having Master of Science in Agricultural Economics degree is a plus.
  • Preferred Industry Type are Analytics / KPO / Research.
  • At least 5 years of experience is needed.
