4G Welding Job Responsibilities:

• Overhead Welding: Execute precise, high-quality welds on plates, beams, and structural components in the 4G (overhead) position, battling gravity to prevent molten metal sagging.
• Equipment Setup: Calibrate welding machines, select correct electrodes/wire, and operate related tools (grinders, cutting torches).
• Blueprint Reading: Accurately interpret technical drawings, structural layouts, and welding symbols to plan the job.
• Quality Control: Inspect completed welds for penetration, structural integrity, and defects, making repairs as needed.
• Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe work zone, wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and safely handle equipment near hazards like high heat or confined spaces.

6G Welding Job Responsibilities:

• Complex Welding: Perform code-quality welds on fixed pipes in the highly demanding 6G position without rotating the pipe.
• Material Preparation: Cut, bevel, clean, and fit pipes according to strict engineering blueprints and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Quality Assurance: Visually inspect welds and pass non-destructive testing (NDT), such as ultrasonic or radiographic examinations.
• Equipment Maintenance: Set up, calibrate, and maintain welding machines, torches, and safety gear.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict industrial safety rules, including wearing appropriate PPE and working safely in confined spaces or at elevated heights.
